Equal pay audit
We carry out an equal pay audit every three years as part of the Universitys commitment to the principle of equal pay for work of equal value.
To do this we ask an independent specialist to review anonymised data from us, and they provide a report giving an overview of pay patterns across the University. The report compares the pay of men and women doing equal work and work rated as of equal value (by this, we mean work of the same or a broadly similar level) and also looks at whether there are differences in pay based on ethnicity, disability, age, length of service, type of contract and starting pay.
We use the report to find out whether work weve done since last time has had a positive impact and to help us to identify any areas that we may need to improve.
Were taking action to meet the recommendations made in this years report and also talking to campus trade unions and other representatives to look at what else we can do to achieve equal pay for work of equal value across the University.
