Paternity and partner leave and pay

This policy explains how much time off and pay you can have following the birth or adoption of a child.

  • You can take ten days paternity/partner leave on full pay.
  • You can take leave before or up to eight weeks after the birth or adoption, depending on your length of service.
  • You can take leave in blocks or on separate dates.
  • If your partner chooses to end their maternity or adoption leave early, you can choose to opt into Shared Parental Leave with your partner and share the remaining weeks' leave and pay.

Our policy endeavours to be fully inclusive and supportive of all types of couples and family relationships and we have attempted to reflect this within our policy. Where individual staff members are in relationships not outlined in the document and are finding barriers to access, we encourage a conversation with your HR Manager. We will evolve our policy in line with your feedback, regulations, best practice and legislative developments.
