Reward and recognition policy

Our reward and recognition policy tells you what your manager can recommend you're awarded, for contribution over and above what's normally expected of you.

  • The policy applies to all University employees on grades 2 to 9, as well as clinical academic staff who are below consultant level (with the exception of clinical academic doctors and dentists in training who are not eligible for ASIs and DIs).
  • There are two sections: Reward, which is an annual process relating to salary increments for consistent and sustained performance above what's expected of you within your role; and Recognition, which is an ongoing scheme where your manager can recommend awards for instances of excellent performance.
  • If you think you should receive an award through either the Reward or Recognition scheme, you can speak to your manager or your HR Manager.

If you have any queries, please contact your local Faculty/Service HR team
