One possible approach is:

  • Move to formal procedures.
  • Meet with her again under Section E of the Support Staff Procedure Agreement.
  • Clearly outline to her the issues with her work and what your expectations are.
  • Discuss with her the reasons for this poor performance.
  • Explain that her performance must improve as her work is essential for the business or you may have to go to the next stage of the formal procedure.
  • Issue a capability warning.
  • Discuss other options.
  • Put meeting summaries in writing.
