This policy explains what flexible working is and how to ask to work flexible hours to help fit your work hours around your personal commitments.
- Flexible working is the variation of working hours, times, patterns or location to help Schools/Services to structure working patterns and staffing in line with business and customer needs and for you to fit your time around your personal commitments.
- You can ask your Head of School/Service to work different hours to help fit your personal commitments.
- However, to ask to work flexible hours you must have worked for the University for six months and not have made an application to work flexible hours within the last year.
- If youd like to work flexible hours you should talk with your Head of School/Service about it. You should also fill in the 'flexible working request' form.
